Pittsburgh Glass Center: Virtual Glass Blowing
Prompt: The game is designed for 13-18 year old students, allowing students to efficiently and safely learn the workflow of glass blowing before going to the physical shop.
The game has won Golden place at the 2023 International Serious Play Award Student Entries.
It is currently used in Pittsburgh Glass Center’s summer Teen Bootcamp and fall school.
My use of audio software Kyma is supported by The Frank-Ratchye Further Fund by the Frank-Ratchye Studio for Creative Inquiry.

Sound Design & Music
Voiceover
To honor Pittsburgh Glass Center’s request of their mascot Blaze remaining gender neutral, we wanted a child-like, light-spirited voice. Besides casting non-binary actor, we also process the voiceover via Kyma, a sound design platform.
In addition to step-by-step instruction from Blaze, we also implemented ad-libs that are randomly selected, allowing each player to have a slightly different experience.
Music
The musical qualities are written to be pristine, relaxing, and somewhat understated to accommodate the large amount of voiceover.
