Woking with Moon Collective, "Trilogy on Duality" is a trilogy of cinematic short films that explore various definitions of the term "duality".
In “Duality Broken”, Felix struggles to express romantic feelings for his friends Evan. The first part of the film takes place in Felix’s dream where he feels safe to explore his relationship with Felix. The second part is the cruel reality where Evan reject Felix’s feelings.
"Confession"
In the sunset by the sea, Felix is anxiously waiting to make his confession. With the string tremolo building up the tension, the motif (carried by piano and strings) blossoms as Evan showed up. The warm, harmonious music changes into cinematic minor when Felix’s heartbroken by Evan’s rejection.
Music
"Love/Fear"
Felix is dancing with his friend Evan who he has had repressed feelings for. Yet, the fear of coming out and losing the friendship keeps haunting even in his dream. The piano and strings intertwine closely, almost like intimate whispers between lovers.
"Dream"
In his dream, Felix found himself walking on the beach, and he has never felt so free before. The dreamy music consists of calming, grand ambience with soft piano playing in the back.
